BSc Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, UBCO 2022
Projects:
- Deep learning for Differential Diagnosis and Early Detection of Lung Cancer
Upon completing my two-year national service in the Singapore Civil Defence Force in 2018, I decided to come to Kelowna to pursue a degree in Biochemistry at UBCO. As being part of the UBCO community, I have been rendered various of opportunities including the research project that I will be working on this summer. With much enthusiasm, I am looking forward to seeing how the deep learning model can serve not only as a tool for lung cancer predictions, but revolutionise the way medical-related problems are approached to a greater extent. Apart from my deep-seated interest in artificial neural networks, my academic interest extends to include neurology, which I hope to specialise in medical school one day! Beyond the academics, I love playing the violin, reading, and going for runs.
